Random Facebook Updates 2009

-had a long day of chasing little girls in flower dresses around pinning them back up as they did their best to destroy themselves before pictures could be taken, ahhh, so glad it's over.
-Presents are the best way to show someone you care.
-Ohhhh, the life of a cat... how weird would it be to lick yourself clean. Seriously, it would be like sending out wedding invitations all day every day. Callouses on the tongue- Yech!
-Crazy people don't think they're crazy. They think they're getting saner.
-By-umm-pum-pum-by-umm.
-Watching someone race cars on the Xbox is not my idea of fun. Especially when I have no appreciation for it in real life. Are you done yet, Brian???
-I think I'm being haunted. Things can never be found where I left them- oh wait, I have a two-year old.
-Had a picnic at Sugarhouse park with Brian and the girls. Enjoying these beautiful days... fully realizing that winter is just around the corner.
- So excited that they've started making Snuggies for dogs!!! (sarcasm intended)
-The dramatic Prairie Dog strikes again!
- I was afraid it would be torture to get my little girl's ears pierced today. She surprised us and said, "I hurt, mommy." In a very cheery voice.
-Usually an AL fan... not this year.
-Salt Lake minus the screaming is lovely.
-I have the best husband. We are going to "Disney Princesses on Ice" tonight. Being the father of two little girls can be a pride swallowing job.
-Library Day!!! I have to sneak in that book Abby has not let me return yet.
-"Terminated" sounds so violent. Like a murder. Thank God for new beginnings!
-Made four pies, mashed potatoes and double duty on the turkey with my sis. My mom heated up frozen veggies. Just sayin'. I guess after 30+ years she deserves a break.
-I DO NOT love shopping. So glad it's over!
-Here's Johnny! Watching the classics... Dom Deluise is a nutcase.
-Husband is complaining about the newly vacuumed carpet being hit by popcorn tornado named Ginny. I hedge, "So we shouldn't allow them to ever drink fun stuff like popcorn?" Yeah, long day. Brian got a good laugh, though.
-Abby inherited Hannah Montana pajamas from her cousin and wore them for the first time tonight.
Abby: I love Hannah Montana!
Brian: You don't even know who Hannah Montana is.
Abby: Uh huh! She's a rocking star!
-Left the 30 Rock DVD on menu for less than a minute and decided that I would rather drive a nail through my head than listen to the theme song for that long again. Maybe I'm a little cranky and should go to bed.
-Craving a burger from Salt City Burger Co. and I'm not even a burger lover!
-My two-year old says "Look, ta-da" (I should say yells) But I swear, it sounds like she's doing a Hulk Hogan impression. How is a little GIRL able to sound like that? It's frightening.
-Why does it feel like January? What is going on this year? Where are you Christmas?
-It was a run by fruiting.
-BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT: My brother Michael opened up a gift from my mother. A large box full of my other brother's old clothes. Apparently she saw this box in storage with a picture of a suitcase on it and thought to herself, "I must have bought Michael a suitcase for Christmas." and wrapped it up with out looking inside, just in case. That's my mom!
-Abby to Ginny: Don't tell Daddy. He's not a mom, he's a boy.

Winter Wonderland

Snow visited Salt Lake last night stealthily as we slept. Ahhhh, the beauty of the trees in the early morning hours. You know what I'm talking about... trees stained black by the damp and outlined by a frost of snow. The whole world was glistening. I needed some Christmas music but I have this rule: no Christmas music until Thanksgiving is over.
Unfortunately by the time I came home it was all melted and the snow left on the ground was limp, good for snow men, but not very fresh (I'm going to see if I can keep the girls from looking out the windows. They have been looking forward to the snow but I'm not looking forward to wet snow suits, boots, mittens, etc. and runny noses. Maybe next week.). It was glorious while it lasted!

It's Autumn Time

Slow to Post: Halloween

This is Thumbelina, a black cat and Snow White
Thumbelina and Snow White on the way up to Foothill Village to get candy (before all the glitter came off).
Ginny (Snow White), Abby (Thumbelina), Chandler (Bumblebee) holding Ollie (Monkey), Lex (Batman, holding his mask), and Gabe (Wolverine).
First House!!! We are all still together.
Abby's pumpkin, Abby punched it out but mommy did the cutting.
Brian's Pumpkin and the Spider is Ginny's with a little help from Brian

The girls had a blast on Halloween with their cousins. The boys came over early and we carved EIGHT pumpkins which made quite a few yummy seeds. Brian's mom also got some home-made chili together which was sooooo good. We went up to Foothill and got lots of candy and saw lots of cool costumes and then we went around the neighborhood. It was a little tiring with 6 kids. Chandler, Gabe and Abby went running from house to house and I tried to keep up with them (and attempted to keep Gabe from walking into strangers houses unannounced and banging on their windows). Brian and Liz tried to help Ginny and Lex keep up with the big kids and took turns carrying Ollie.

Disney on Ice

We went to Disney Princesses on Ice the other night. The girls had a blast. Abby was so excited that it showed in her hair! She was watching for the dragon from Sleeping Beauty because the last time we saw it they had the dragon come out and spew fire across the ice. It was really cool but it scared her. This time there was no dragon. My favorite part was a blacklit number of fishes "under the sea". Unfortunately the camera couldn't quite capture it.
The highlight for Brian was when he took Ginny out. She was insisting that she was poopy (which she was not) and she peed all over him and her Snow White outfit.
Abby seemed to enjoy the part with the seven dwarfs best, especially when Snow White gave Dopey a kiss... she laughed like crazy.
Ginny loved Tinkerbell and waving to all of the characters.

Maracas, CHa ChA cHA!

Today Brian was mixing up some punch and Abby asked " Daddy, what's the recipe for punch?" Brian answered: water, sugar and punch mix. Abby thought about this, held up the punch packet and shook it. "It sounds like maracas". I love how their little minds work, mwah hah ha.

Chug a Chug a Choo Choo!

This morning Abby built these "train tracks" and then climbed onto this storage container. When asked what she was doing she stated that she was "waiting for her train", DUH! Along came Ginny thinking that this path was perfect to tread and was promptly informed by Abby that she needed to get off the tracks or she would be hit by a train!!! Lately they have both been very imaginative. When in the car we are always in imminent danger of plunging over waterfalls that can clearly be seen ahead of us in our "boat". Apparently mommy is a really good driver. It's so fun to hear them saying "ohhhhhh, ohhhh" as if they were riding the rapids.
